Seattle International District

Seattle’s International District is home to the city’s Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Southeast Asian and other Asian communities. Here you can find many excellent Asian restaurants, including House of Hong, Shanghai Garden and Yoshinobo. If you’re a karaoke fan, visit the scene at China Gate, which is Seattle’s hottest sing-along spot. Other favorites are the Bush Garden and Fortune Sports Bar.

A popular gathering place is Hing Hay Park, located at the corner of S. King Street and Maynard Avenue S., featuring an ornate pavilion and dragon mural. Another important cultural institution in the neighborhood is the Wing Luke Asian Museum. Many local residents have urban gardens in the Danny Woo International District Community Garden.

One of the International District’s most notable establishments is the Asian supermarket Uwajimaya. The Union Station office complex, located across from Fifth Avenue, is home to much of’s operations. All in all, the Seattle’s International District is a great place to visit, especially if you’re looking for unique gifts and souvenirs, specialty wares, Asian art and foods.
